History

DC Cruz Trading Corporation was established in 1966 in Bacolod City by spouses Donato and Susana Cruz as an agricultural trading company, specializing in fertilizers and crop protection products. Currently it strategically covers Negros Island with its 9 stores, and has operational hubs in Mindanao (Davao City) and Luzon (Quezon City) with field personnel to service its distributors.

Its simple mission: service to farmers, has enabled the company to maintain its strong relationship with its customers and to grow its business via a strong network of major global suppliers. Under its Primera brand, it has grown its product portfolio to include nutritionals (traditional fertilizers, specialty foliar fertilizers, bio-stimulants) and crop protection products, manufactured by top quality suppliers.

In 1989, it established the Herbe Foundation Inc. which provides transformative education to children of landless farmer, through its Philippine Lumen School, in Bago City. In 2013, as part of its continuing CSR efforts, the company established the Negros Farmers Weekend Market to help small farmers and housewives have direct access to the market. In 2014, the company was awarded the International Environmental Respect Award in Delaware, USA given by multinational BioScience company Du Pont.

Responding to the needs of a changing business and agricultural landscape, the company in 2018 formed the Dragon Drone Corporation, in close partnership with HG Robotics of Thailand. In 2020, the company formed close ties with Premier Irrigation of India, to serve the micro irrigation needs of farmers.

Now, on its 54th year, the company continues to be true to its mission of providing service to farmers and brings quality products and technological innovation where it matters most.
